It has been a while since I updated my blog - and even longer since I mentioned anything about this sweet baby #2. I finally made it to the doctor when I was 22 weeks. I am now 25 weeks and my official due date is Sept. 9. (9-9-09) Easy to remember right? :) The baby is doing great. At every single one of our doctor appointments, there is ALWAYS a scenario that goes something like this: Stranger or nurse or doctor looks at Ivy. Then they look at me. Then they look at my stomach. Then they ask, "how old is she?" I tell them she just turned 1. Then they ask when I am due. I tell them. Then they get a look on their face that says, "holy crap, what were you thinking?!?!?" while the words that come out of their mouth are something like, "oh they will be such good friends because they are so close in age! It will be like having twins!" To which I respond with a look that says, "thanks for that" while my mouth says something like, "yeah, we're excited." Good times. We also had an ultrasound which let us know we are indeed having another GIRL. :) We really are excited about that part. We didn't really care either way, but this way it's less stuff we have to buy and...honestly...we already know how to raise a girl around here with the mood swings and the pink and the frilly and the changing of minds and the emotional roller coasters... really, what would we have done with a boy? :) And in all seriousness, I hope they will be the best of friends. I will try to get some pictures of me up here soon...although I must say that looking definitely pregnant on Ivy's 1st birthday isn't exactly what I had in mind. There's always next birthday. (And I can guarantee you that there will be NO baby in my uterus on Ivy's 2nd birthday!) But until I get those pictures up, here are some of the baby. She's a bit squished in there right now, so we couldn't get a very good profile. But from what I saw on the ultrasound - she has definitely got her daddy's lips. Lucky girl. :)

You are such a trooper! I know this isn't what you had planned but that is the best part... it isn't "our" plan. Someone else is in charge, and someday it will all make sense. Just be glad you are in the west, because if you lived here people don't just think those rude things they say them, like it is any of thier business!
How can you tell she has Robbie's lips?? :)
Be careful what you 'guarantee' :-)
You guys are doing great! And there is no doubt that Ivy will be a great big sister! She's already learning how to give out orders as she practices on my boys here!!! :-)
Congrats Kara! I can't wait to see pictures of this cute little girl. If she looks anything like her big sis, she will be adorable.
