No more Elmo

This video was taken over the summer. Ivy's old favorite thing to watch used to be anything Elmo. But after our annual Clog Classic - this is now her new favorite thing to watch. You'll see why. And now one of her favorite games is "Let's watch each other clog for 3 hours" I'm learning some great moves from her though!

Addie turns 1!

Holy cow! Her first year went by so so fast! I can't believe she's 1! She turned 1 on September 10th. We posted a wall of pictures of her first year. It was fun to re-live that. Her party was a puppy dog theme because I cannot stress enough how much this little girl loves dogs. Seriously. And we didn't get nearly the amount of pictures that we wanted - including the cake, but we got a few. Poor girl didn't even put one bite of cake in her mouth - she just smashed it and cried. I literally shoved a bite in her mouth to prove to her that she would like it - but that just made her cry more. oops. She had a much better time eating the muddy buddies out of a dog dish. As you can tell... We also went to the Zoo for her birthday and unfortunately these are the only pictures I got to document that event. We are getting ready to head out the door. I only post these to have proof that it happened. :) The other big event of her birthday was taking her to her Aunt Marina and Uncle Bob's house to see their Mastiff Dutchess. She was in heaven. I didn't worry about the drool or the dog hair or the way she would smell when she was done. It was her birthday after all. And as you can see by the video - it was the best present she got. Happy Birthday baby girl!!!!

Funny Girl

This is Addie's favorite thing to do. If she sees a pair of shoes, you can bet this is what she will do with them. P.S. Please ignore my mean mom voice. I didn't know Robbie was recording. :)

Zoltar

Rob and I went to California this fall to visit Robbie's Aunt. While we were there we found Zoltar at the Santa Monica Pier! Good Times.

Addie

Addie is learning to use utensils. Love it! (most of the time)

Potty Training

Ivy is potty training. We did a reward system where every time she went in the toilet she got a sticker. When her sticker chart was full she got ice cream. So here we are at TCBY to collect on her reward. Good Job Ivy!

Summer Recap 2010 - Part 2

We also spent a lot of our summer time with these goofballs. Our friends Greg and Stephanie who have since moved to Texas. I may or may not still be a bit bitter. :) We miss you guys! Ivy helped with picking costumes for the upcoming season. Had garage sales where we had to get creative with ways to stay cool. And we have been enjoying all of my siblings being together for the first time in a long time! Good memories for summer 2010!

Rough morning

Sometimes Ivy wakes up with a big smile, singing Good Morning Sunshine! And sometimes she wakes up like this...

I tried to tell her...

This is what happens when Ivy thinks she doesn't need a nap.

Summer Recap 2010 - Part 1

Seeing as I am so behind on blogging - I thought I would just do a recap of the summer so I can fast forward to what we have been up to this fall.

Lots of time at Settlers Park Where we would often see people we knew like Riley, one of our sweet cloggers seen here holding Addie Went on a hike with Lo-Lo Addie dropping a plate on her toe almost cutting it off, making Ivy think she had an "owie" too. Welcoming Rick home form his mission! Lots of couponing Trying to find ways to cool off apparantly since this is how I found Ivy one day Going to a business seminar in L.A. where I saw some cool beach front property. This is me saying "WOW" by the way... Spending lots of time with Ivy's best friend Lilly And learning how to share...

It's Official

It's official. I HAVE to stop saying the word "crap". This is why:

Addie was getting into something she shouldn't, so I saw her and said, "Addie!!!!" And when I turned back around I immediately said, "piece of crap" because the drink I had sitting on the counter had fallen over and spilled everywhere. I then see Ivy go directly over to Addie, point her finger at her and say, "Addie - piece of crap."

It's official. I've learned my lesson.

And because every post is better with a picture...enjoy this little number.

Good Times

Me: Why in the world did Ivy put her cereal bar back in the cupboard half gone?

Robbie: What? (Goes over to the cupboard to look) Well, at least you didn't think it was me.

**Long awkward silence**

Me: Was it you that put it back in the cupboard?

Robbie: Yes. I wasn't thinking!

Me: (laughing) I totally have to take a picture of this!

Robbie: Please don't!

Me: Why not?

Robbie: Cause I don't want to be THAT guy!

Good Times.

Ivy is 2!!! (and 3 months cause I am behind on blogging)

We had a very low key birthday party for Ivy back in May. (And that's not cause we celebrated it early, but because I am late to blog this. She turned 2 May 18th) It was great. We went to Settlers Park and just played, opened presents, playes some more, grabbed a cookie, and played a little bit more. For Ivy - it was perfect. All she ever wanted and more.

See, look a how much she's having. :) She got a LOT of Elmo for her birthday. Elmo is her best friend, I'm pretty sure. She is only allowed to watch an hour of TV a day, and it usually ends up being Sesame Street. Although - Abuelita has introduced her to Dora, so we'll see how long that lasts. :) Mom and Dad got her a new trike. We just thought it was the coolest until we realized she can't even reach the petals. Awesome. This next picture pretty much sums it up. Playing was her favorite. Then the cookies. Then the presents. :) No - we didn't have a cake. And yes - I realize Ivy will probably look back and get all offended that I didn't make her a cake on her birthday. Well, Ivy, let me just say in advance, "Look at how content you are with your cookie!" Mom and Dad also gave her this play house. I was working on it forever and got it done just in time! She loves it! And so does Addie. Which is a bonus. :) Happy Birthday baby girl! We love you! You are growing up too fast. Stop it - or I might have to put you in the freezer! XOXOXO

Summer Fashion

Turns out, that Ivy's knees and legs have looked like this in some form or another all summer long. Just a reminder of how much fun we're having around here!

Well, this is embarrassing...

I cannot believe that it's been 4 months since I updated the blog! How embarrassing... Needless to say, I will be updating with posts slowly but surely - and guaranteed to be about events that are long gone. One reason is because my pictures and videos from June are all gone. Yeah - Remember the time when Robbie put the memory card in the computer so I thought he had downloaded the pictures and I deleted them, but then found out that he never did download them after all? Me too.

Family Pictures

The amazing Tara at Taralynn Photography did it again! We got family pictures taken back in March when Addie was 6 months old. Adelynn looks a lot different now, but the rest of us pretty much look the same! :) I am super disappointed that we couldn't get any pictures of both the girls together - but neither of them enjoy the picture taking process, so we kind of had to pick our battles. :)

Ivy's first Clogging Competition

Ivy competed in her first clogging freestyle back in Feb! She was a doll. She was really fascinated with the other girls on stage and was pretty much only interested in trying to be their friend. And notice how she gets distracted by something by the front of the stage? That was me. I completely sabotaged her clogging debut. I was trying to get her to dance and all she would do was look at me and laugh. She totally would have danced had I not interfered. I told Robbie how I made it worse, and Robbie's response was, "Moms usually do."
